Bandits' catcher Daniel De La Calle tripled on a fly ball to right field to score Ryan Battaglia (single) before Andrew Campbell (single) and Wade Dutton (sacrifice fly) added to the lead.

The Cavalry quickly struck back in the bottom of the third with Kouki Aoyagi singling on a ground ball to shortstop, before advancing to third after a throwing error by De La Calle and eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly from Justin Lopez.

Canberra continued its hot form in the bottom of the fourth, taking the lead on Kyle Perkins' homer to left field.

Brisbane tied up the ball game in the top of the sixth with Hsu Chi-Hung's triple allowing Dutton (walk) to score.

The North-East Division leading Bandits asserted their dominance on the contest in the eighth inning.

Donald Lutz reached on a line drive to centre field, before Dutton professionally executed a sacrifice bunt to progress Lutz to second base.

A fielding error by Kyle Perkins allowed Lutz to score for the Bandits and Battaglia singled to build a two-run lead.

The Cavs left a couple of runners in scoring position to finish the game as they slumped to a game one defeat.

Game two of the series is scheduled for 7pm tomorrow at The Fort at MIT Ballpark.
