Canberra have continued their mid-season hot-streak, defeating Auckland 21-4 in their first ever Brut Australian Baseball League meeting at MIT Narrabundah Ballpark on Thursday night.
A first innings demolition of the Tuatara paved the way for the Cavs on the night, scoring a whopping seven runs in front of the adoring home crowd.

Michael Fransoso opened the scoring on the night for the Cavs following a Craig Massey (double) fly ball to right field.
Canberra then capitalised on a throwing error by Auckland's Jerry Lacayo as Robbie Perkins scored and brother Kyle made it to third base.
The win now improves the Cavs record to 14-11, putting them in equal second position in the North-East Division following the Bandits game one loss to the Blue Sox. The loss sinks the Tuatara (7-17) further down the standings.
Steven Kent was instrumental for the home side by terrorising the New Zealand batters, recording a career high astonishing 13 strikeouts from seven innings.
The Cavs kicked off the second innings the way they started the first, piling on another six quick runs.
Robbie Perkins doubled on a fly ball to centre field, seeing Zach Wilson and David Kandilas cross home plate, before Cam Warner (double) crunched a fly ball to centre field allowing Logan Kingham and Fransoso to score.
Auckland showed some fight in the fourth inning, clawing back two runs, however it was not enough to overcome a powerful Cavs outfit.
Eric Jenkins opened the scoring for the visitors, following Daniel Lamb-Hunt's fly ball double to left field. Max Brown then hit a powerful line drive triple to right field bringing Lamb-Hunt home.
Tuatara added another two late runs at the top of the eighth inning when Jenkins again crossed home plate, in an outstanding performance for the visitors.
The Cavs extended their lead out to 21-4 after scoring eight runs combined in the bottom of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
Big home runs to Zach Wilson and Kyle Perkins in the bottom of the seventh allowed Craig Massey and David Kandilas to score.
Kandilas finished with a team-high four hits, while Wilson recorded a career-high five RBI in the contest.
The series will continue Friday night at 7pm, where Canberra and Auckland face-off for game two of the series.
