A selection of the junior men's water polo squad, including standouts Nick Taylor and Gus Shepherd, have been invited to join the Australian women's Olympic training camp in Canberra.

The junior men will train with the women's squad and have the opportunity to develop their skills in hope to be selected for the junior world championships held in Kuwait in December.

"It's specifically designed for players that have an aspiration to play at national or international level," Fox said.

"It goes above and beyond what the club and other training options are in the ACT. It's designed to mirror what the other states do with their state institute academies and training programs.

"What we provide is the underpinning programs for the senior program," Fox said. "All of our players are essentially vying for spots in the Australian junior world championship teams."

Standout athlete Nick Taylor was selected in the Australian born 1999 squad and is set for a big junior world championship campaign.

Taylor's selection comes following his outstanding performance with the men's Uniroos team at the summer Universiade held in Italy next July.

The senior women are currently in camp with the junior men's squad set to train with them between September 30th and October 5th .
